You know what...

Rowing is hard... harder than I thought... I wanted to be naturally good.. haha.. Found out quickly I am not a natural "Crew" person...

Today was the Austin Rowing Club - FREE: Learn to Row Day, so James and I went.. It was beautiful out there by the water... Weather is amazing.. Our wait was so long.. then finally it was our turn.. Rowing machines makes you think "Hey, it can't be that difficult!" Well.. Rowing machines aren't, but the first awkward step into the really long skinny boat is terrifying.. I was tense the entire time, because I did not want to be the one who flip the boat!

One of the many reasons I felt completely lost was the language they used.. seriously.. I had NO clue what they were saying.. "slide..." "wade.." "Port side..." "catch.." "Number 2... NUMBER 2!!" (Apparently, I was number 2. haha.)

Oh well.. it was my very first time.. If I go again, I will learn the language before... It was a fun adventure though..

  1. We're reading a book in our history studies right now called "Pipe, Paddle, and Song" - I thought of it instantly when you mentioned the rowing - hope you have fun if you go again!
